About Kalkulo
Last reviewed:
Kalkulo.eu is a free collection of country-specific financial calculators — take-home pay, VAT, stamp duty, mortgages, self-employment tax and more — built for people who need a quick, locally-accurate answer without signing up for anything. The United Kingdom section covers the 2026/27 tax year using HMRC rates and thresholds.
Who runs Kalkulo
Kalkulo is published by Cosmic Production d.o.o., a company registered in Croatia. We build and maintain the calculators in-house rather than licensing a generic, one-size-fits-all tool — which is why each market uses its own local rules, currency and terminology instead of a single global formula.
Who writes and checks the content
Calculator logic and the explanatory text around it are produced and maintained by the Kalkulo Editorial Team. For the UK, every rate, band and threshold is checked against primary government sources — gov.uk, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and the relevant statutory instruments — before a calculator is published or updated. Where a calculation involves a documented simplification (for example, annualising National Insurance), we say so on the page and in its FAQ.
Our calculators are informational tools, not a regulated tax, legal or accountancy service. For binding figures we always point you back to HMRC or a qualified accountant. See our methodology & sources page for exactly how each result is derived and which sources we rely on.
How we keep figures accurate
- We review UK rates and thresholds at the start of each tax year and after any in-year change announced by HMRC or in a fiscal event (Budget / Autumn Statement).
- Every calculator shows the tax year it applies to, the official source, and a "last updated" date.
- If you spot a figure that looks out of date or wrong, email us — we correct verified errors quickly and note material changes in each calculator's update log.
Our promises
- Every calculator is free, with no account required.
- Calculations run in your browser — we don't need your salary or financial figures on a server to compute a result.
- We disclose how the site is funded (advertising) and which third parties receive data, with your consent, on our privacy page.
